Programmes for Schools The learners license is now included as an optional certificate course counting towards the Life Orientation year mark, but as a school, what assurance do you have that learners actually learnt anything while obtaining their learners?License testing and road accident statistics testify to the fact that South African drivers do not learn much while undergoing driver training. Our road deaths per thousand are many times that of countries such as the United States, leading one to the conclusion that transfer of learning, behavioural and attitudinal change do not take place when learners obtain their licenses, or that current programmes do not adequately teach safe driving. We would be failing in our responsibility as Educators if we do not ensure that our learners are able to acess the best possible preparation for their Learners and Drivers Licenses. Our programme is available to schools, both over the Internet or as a local installation on the school server. The programme is very competitively priced and includes K53 training, Low Risk Habit Formation AARTO, the new licence penalty system, currently trialing in the Tshwane Metro and Johannesburg (the only South African licencee for Learners Licence training) and. What Does it Cost? Cost is always a factor. Learners Licence preparation through a Driving School can cost anything from R200 to R700, while CD-based programmes cost from R120 upwards. What do these courses offer? Generally, they offer K53 preparation which you can do by means of self study, from a guide costing anything from R55.00-R120.00. In addition, they offer to take you through the questions you can expect when doing your test. It is also possible to obtain copies of the three standard tests used by licensing departments and do a trial run of the test. You will notice that everything you do is test focused, with very little emphasis on learning good driving habits. Our course will cost a school R120.00 per learner, with the learners remaining registered until they have left school. As part of our service we will assist you with fundraising and sponsorship efforts, in order to ensure that the course is available to all your learners.
